New shell model of ODB
A new model of the ODB (Offset Deformable Barrier) developed by Arup/Cellbond is now available. The model uses shell elements to model the honeycomb rather than solid elements. This gives a greater level of accuracy in how the cladding and honeycomb deform.
This barrier is used in the EU front impact regulation and by several consumer test organisations such as Euro NCAP and the IIHS.
