Development of a generic approach for the determination of yield curve and yield locus parameters for sheet metal materials by means of digital image correlation.
The methodology developed within the project can be described with the term full-field calibration. With the help of the optical identification of the in-situ measured transient distortion field on the surface of a sheet metal specimen, a large amount of measurement data is available to compare the actual deformation behaviour of this material in detail with the corresponding simulation results. Compared to the state of the art, for example, not only uniaxial strains up to the point of uniform elongation will be integrally used for the calibration, but in principle it is possible to use the entire experimentally measured transient strain field to identify the material parameters of a pre-selected constitutive model.
